Whether you're based outside Bristol or simply prefer working from the comfort of your own home, online music psychotherapy offers a powerful and flexible way to access therapy. I offer one-to-one online sessions for adults and young people via secure video platforms.

 

Music psychotherapy integrates music, sound and verbal reflection to support emotional wellbeing and psychological insight. My online work includes a range of creative and evidence-based approaches, tailored to each individual.

What happens in an online session?

 

Depending on your needs and preferences, sessions may include:

 

     - Music and Imagery journeys – using carefully selected music to evoke inner imagery, uncover emotional material and access symbolic, unconscious aspects of experience

 

     - Breath, vocal and sound-based practices to support grounding, regulation, and authentic self-expression

 

     - Meditation and mindfulness techniques to cultivate inner awareness and emotional resilience

 

     - Work with songs – exploring how music and lyrics resonate, how songs hold personal meaning, and even co-creating music to articulate what feels hard to express in words

All of these approaches can be meaningfully adapted to the online format. No musical experience is needed. Music becomes a shared language – a space to listen, explore, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel distant or hard to reach.

What do I need for online sessions?

Just a few things to help you get the most out of the experience:

 

     - A stable internet connection

 

     - Good-quality headphones or decent external speakers

 

     - A quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably without being disturbed

 

Is online therapy right for me?

 

Some people are unsure whether music psychotherapy will work online – but in my experience, it can be just as powerful as in-person sessions. In fact, many clients find it easier to relax and connect with their inner world from home.
